Glamour, nipple tassels, comedy and high camp were the order of the night when we went to see our fabulous new fiction author, and international show girl, Immodesty Blaize in The Tease Show. Compered by Julian Clary, music from Marc Almond and with acts such as Catherine D’Lish and Kitten De Ville, we were in for a treat!
With some trepidation (but in high heels and with lashings of red lipstick) we made our way to Koko in Camden not knowing quite what to expect.

The night began by reeling us in with a burlesque dancer on a spider web. We saw dancers frolicking in huge champagne glasses, an oriental dancer with gravity defying assets, and three fantastic glitter covered male dancers who almost stole the show. But the star turn was Miss Blaize, who regaled us with three performances including her famous (infamous?) Rocking Horse Act.
When Immodesty and Julian were on the Paul O’Grady show last week he said that ‘media types’ didn’t know how to behave at a burlesque show as they are too reserved. O’Grady was present last night and busy proving that he certainly isn’t that type, shouting, cat calling and whistling as loudly as he could from the Directors Box!
Immodesty’s first book, Tease, is out today and Julian’s new novel Devil in Disguise was out earlier this month.
