Digital Bonanza

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

It’s been three months since I wrote about what Ebury are doing on the digital front, so I thought it might be time for an update. Here are a few of the wonderful happenings on the World Wide Web since the last post:

Charles Martin Books

Charles Martin is our newest fiction author. The reviews for Where the River Ends have started to pour in and are overwhelmingly positive, and we created this website for fans to get background information, see photos of the river that Abby and Chris navigate in the book, read an interview with Charles, get a reading guide, read Charles’ blog, and sign up to the newsletter. We have big plans for Charles in the coming years, so the site will continue to evolve and develop as new books are announced. Watch this space!

Jamil Qureshi

Have a weird phobia you want to get over? Want to become super-successful in your life? Tackling a problem you don’t think you’ll ever be able to solve? Jamil is your man. Plus he has some crazy mind-bending tricks up his sleeve as anyone who attended our annual conference in March can attest to. On the website you can find out more about the book, get some of his top tips and watch videos of him working with people from across Random House, putting them under his spell and curing their phobias.

Free Ebury books

Did you know that you can get free books from us? That’s right – totally 100% free. Every month, we choose one or two of the titles that we think people will really enjoy and want to spread the word about and we send them out, for free, to the first 20 or so people who ask for them. Join the group here and test your response time next month when the new books go up.

Girl in High Heels

Okay, so technically, this site launched before my last post, but to be honest back then there wasn’t a huge amount of content on it. Now, however, the site has loads of content – Ellouise Moore, our very own Girl in High Heels – has been writing regularly on the site about all the things that have been happening since she published the book. The response to the book has been amazing and it’s great to read some of the comments people are leaving her on the site. She also now writes a column for AskMen.com and you can find those on the blog as well.

The Kitchen Revolution

No offence to any of the other websites, because they are all pretty great, but this is my favourite website since I started working at Ebury. And not only because I spent one of our only gloriously hot Sundays in summer with two other marketing bods doing data entry in an empty office building. I’ve already talked about how fantastic the book is, but the website is just so handy. I cook from this book pretty regularly, and being able to get the week’s recipes online when I’m at work is great. Plus it looks pretty. I love it.
