You are in for a great read. Lee Child makes me wish I was a slow reader. |

I think Froleich is a real person and won a charity auction to become a character in the book. |

Hi Jack fans,
I have read "Without fail" a few months ago, and if I'm right, jack's brother
got killed working for the tresury department. The last of Lee's books that I read, was "Killing Floor", and jack's brother again got killed.
Having read the vast majority of Lee's novels, not in any sequence as they were published (maybe one or two)....hence the first book "Killing Floor", published was the last book I read.
Anyway, I liked the way, the other books linked, "Leon Garber"....was his trainer in the MP,..etc.. and all Jacks history was the same.
So why did Jacks brother Joe, die twice?,...I think it makes Jacks fiction character un-realistic.. or probably I'm thinking too logical.
Regards Jack Bauer :?: |

Hey Jack!
Reacher's brother was murdered in Killing Floor whilst trying to uncover a money landering scam - he was working for the treasury department at the time.
I think his death is referred to in Without Fail (and if I remember correctly) Reacher sees his brothers name on a wall/plaque type thing - but the reference is to Joe's death in Killing Floor.
Hope this makes sense (sorry, it's been a little while since I read WF)

Joe died working for the Treasury department. He was undercover so to speak trying to get to the bottom of a money laundering operation. 'Without Fail' is several books (and therefore years later) so Joe Reacher is being referenced in death in that book.
Like Dogsbody said -
Quote: Reacher sees his brothers name on a wall/plaque type thing - but the reference is to Joe's death in Killing Floor.
This is in commeration for Joe, who died in the line of duty. Hope that clears things up? |
