....apparently brewed in honour of Lee Child's recent visit to Sheffield!

I wish they bottled it! Now, will have to get Mr LM on the case at the Great British Beer Festival! (or send him up to Sheffield with a "carry out"! he must be due a visit to the Kelham Island Brewery, anyway!)

I hope it comes in big, sturdy bottles - wouldn't be right to put it in a small, delicate little one
I have family up in that direction, might be an idea to pop up for a quick visit - if di, will take a photy of the pint...and let you know how nice it is!

Wow! Any idea if this is up for grabs?
LM - I see you have a connection with beer - can you sort it out for us - by the crate-load.....?

Alas, Mr LM is a bit tardy getting this organised.....although we're off to Barnsley Beer & Jazz Festival over the bank holiday - maybe I can persuade him to stop off in Sheffield on the way...!

Hi, Holly!
It's actually the Yorkshire real ale and Music Festival in Locke Park 29-31 Aug.
http://www.yorkshirefestivals.co.uk/index.php
We're off up on Sunday which is Blues Day - Mr LM wants to watch football (some little team called Tottenham Hotspur.....) on the Saturday, which is Jazz Day, which I would have preferred, but hey...!

Well, we had a run up to Barnsley for the first ever Yorkshire Real Ale and Music Festival!
Was a hoot - although we went for the lunchtime session, so the numbers were a bit down on the evenings! Still, we got in for free - comp tickets from the organisers (who are friends of Mr LM! )
We heard a good band and Mr Reacher would've approved, as they did a number of Stevie Ray Vaughan covers!
And we were good - only tried four of the 50+ ales on offer - well, Mr LM was driving! So, next year we'll go up for the whole w/end!

Hey Maid! Sounds like you had a good time! When you say "first ever" fest, does that mean they plan to do it again?
If I'm still up this end of the country I wouldn't mind going myself (and a few of my boozy cohorts, if I can tempt them to venture North!)
Holly
(Read your post about "stereotypes" - I'd say you shatter a few of those yourself! Boozy library staff - how do you get the books so neat on the shelves? ) |
